Registration Code Does Not Save

An issue has been reported where the Registration Code is not saved after My Orchid Vault has been activated.   In this situation when My Orchid Vault is closed after being activated and is then re-opened, MOV opens back at the Registration screen and the Registration Code field is blank.  Other side effects of this issue are that New Records can not be created and any other data entered into the database is not saved.  This issue should only be limited to more recent Window's operating systems.

Effected Operating Systems:

  • Windows Vista
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows 7

Known Cause - In this case either the users Windows login does not have full administrative priviledges and/or the installation directory has been locked.

How to Fix - go to the directory on your computer where My Orchid Vault has been installed, usually the programs directory; right click on the "MOV-1.0" folder and select "Properties".  Make sure the "Read Only" box is not checked.

If "Read Only" is checked and you can not keep it unchecked, you will need to make sure that you have administrative access on your computer.
